The final chapter of Andrew’s 04 FXT Build

We have reached the final chapter for the 04 XT build. You will find out why in the next blog I do (Andrew). The VF39 and tune did wonders for the car. Installation was smooth and we found a decent amount of oil in the old turbohttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com re assuring our diagnosis that the car was eating oil due to the turbo being bad.

The VF39 was installedhttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com the oil changedhttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com and from there it was a shoot down to see Jay Perryhttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com who was our in house tuner and engine builder when we had a location down in Wareham Mass. Jay does wonders with Subaru; whether it be a humble street car like my Forester or a ¼ mile beast like his 600+ WHP STi. Jay was happy to tune the red beasthttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com and it left his place more of a sleeper than ever before. The VF39 is the perfect application for anyone on the fence about a turbo upgradehttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com or someone who simply wants to stay conservative with their build. I mean heyhttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com its OEM in the STi!

The cool thing about the Forester XT is for this upgrade you do not need to upgrade your fuel injectors; you can simply leave them alone. A larger top mount intercooler and a fuel pump are suggested. We prefer the DW fuel pumphttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com and a OEM STi top mount intercooler (Or AMR). This keeps things more affordable from a labor perspective and parts costs. Don’t forget about a downpipe toohttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com COBB is a great high quality option.

Overall the Forester build is cost effectivehttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com efficient and affordable. Great daily driver/ commuter to and from work every dayhttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com fun on exit ramps ( ISC coilovers)http://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com and the ultimate sleeper. As I have said in prior blogshttp://ajwperformanceproductsblog.com I have owned every modern day Subaru there is (except Baja) and this car is probably my favorite thus far!
