The AJW Performance Rally Pig

Something I feel we just dont talk about enough. The AJW Performance Rally Pig partnered with owner and driver Neil Liddle is a force to be reckoned with. This pig came to us last summer (2011) for support in his endeavors in the rally game. When Neil first came to us we sat down and talked about his plans for the season, schedule of events and plans for the car. It was pretty cut and dry. Store the car safely when he was not racing it, take care of full race prep and install/rebuild anything that needed to be done. Our first action was to install an STi 6 speed transmission, DCCD controller and STi steering column. He took the car back, gave it hell at a rally and realized the cooling system was not keeping up. To address this we wired in a switch to be able to switch the both fans on (or one at a time) to keep the car cool between heats.

Super Meet 7 @ AJW Performance

Saturday May 12th 2012 marked a big day at AJW Performance. Starting at around 9am cars from all over the New England area came cruising in to our facility to enjoy a day filled with sun, delicious food, fun and our common hobby; Cars.

New England Subarus being the organizing party showed up bright and early to help us out with parking, setup and going over the plan for the day. Throughout the day over  130 cars poured into the lot behind the shop and at Factory Five Racing. Music was blasting through the parking lot, people were shining up their cars and having a good time. DRT Components made an appearance, a local growing company specializing in Mudflaps, Harness bars, skid plates, and light bars.

Tim’s 2002 Bugeye, a tale before the build

My 2002 Subaru WRX WRB, A Life Story

Well the time has come. 169,000 miles and the little
bugeye that could has finally called it quits. Not in the blaze of glory I
originally envisioned but an interesting ordeal none the less. This story is to
show the true strength and build quality that Subaru offers to some of the best
and most diverse customer base ever seen. Have no doubts that when you buy a
Subaru they are built to last!

Lets start with her beginning.

AJay’s 2011 WRX

Sometime last year I came across a thread on NASIOC.com with a young man looking to have his car stored while he was deployed overseas fighting for our countries freedom. Through messages I spoke with AJay for over a year while he was away, checking in on him and talking about his plans for the WRX for when he returned home. The car is a 2011 WRX. Plans are a nice drivable stage 2 setup. We decide on the parts and get everything ordered up.

Here is the list:

  • TurboXS Turboback exhaust
  • AEM Cold air intake

Andrew’s Nissan 350Z Nismo Edition

Little while back we joined up on My350Z.com to do some advertising and promotion of AJW Performance and our extensive product line. During our time on the forums there we met Andrew Pierce who owns this beautiful Nismo Z. Andrew was one of the few non Subarus at our grand opening in October of 2011 and offered some serious eye candy for us Subaru owners.

Here are some pics from the meet and how it looked before our work.

ISC Coilovers on Steve’s 2012 STi

Today we installed ISC N1 Street coilovers on Steve’s 2012 STi.

The 8/6 street springs are a great choice for someone looking for a combination of streetable ride quality and agressive weekend auto-x or track days.

The ISC N1 Coilovers have 32 way adjustable dampening, front camber, and pillowball upper mounts all standard.

Feb 27th- Headgaskets, Valve Work + More

Daniel owns this 2002 WRX which was having some miss fires. He brought it in to AJW Performance for some diagnostic work.

We changed the spark plugs, did a compression check, coil packs and a few other tests and confirmed that cylinder #4 had something seriously wrong. After removing the head we found one of the valves had a significant piece missing, so it was time for some head work. While the motor was pulled we decided to do the other head gasket. We discovered that the head had several cracks in it, so this was taken care of as well of course.

Feb 23 2012- Ball Joints, Downpipes/Uppipes, Tuning + Turbos!

The best part about having such a great day at the shop is writing about it to share with everyone else.

Today we attacked in full force, overflowing our workspace in the shop more work had to be performed in the parking lot! It will be time for that larger building sooner than we thought!

The Black 2003 Legacy GT:

Agency Power Exhaust Installed On 996

996 Exhaust Clip

We installed a Agency Power stainless exhaust system on the 1999 996 C4 recently.

The car has a great tone and much better throttle response throughout the powerband. Agency power offers great fitment, at a price which will not break the bank either (Around 800.00 for the system). This system allows for the use of the OEM tips, or aftermarket tips if you would like as well. AJW Performance is an Agency Power dealer.

What’s New Today? Coilover, HID, Exhaust + Tuning! Feb 4 2012

Today we installed some ISC Coilovers on Matt’s 08 WRX. Matt is a great customer of ours and already has some nice work done to his car that we have performed in the past, such as a VF52, Injectors, Turbo Back Exhaust, and more.

Ryan’s legacy came in this afternoon as well. We did a street tune and a downpipe, as well as HID’s.

A downpipe and tune really wake these legacy gt’s up, making the car a lot of fun to drive.

The downpipe of choice is an Invidia, paired with an AJW Performance street tune.
